Picket Post Piranhas Swim Team
Join the Picket Post Piranhas Swim Team. Our team is for Picket Post Club members, ages 4 – 18 No prior swimming experience is necessary. The goals of the team are to improve swimming instruction and have fun!
The season begins after Memorial Day weekend and runs through the last weekend in July. Practices are offered four evenings a week until school is out (5:30 – 6:30 or 6:30 – 7:30). Beginning in mid June, practices will be offered six mornings a week (8:30-10:00 or 10:00-11:00) and two evenings a week (Monday and Wednesday from 5:30-6:30). Swimmers are not required to attend all practices. Swim meets are held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings beginning at the end of June and running through mid-July.
We also offer a Minis team for swimmers ages four through seven who are not quite ready for the team. The minis practice on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings (11:15-11:45 am) beginning in the middle of June. When they are ready, minis are invited to attend our home meets for a special mini meet held before the regular meet begins.
The season is filled with many fun activities for the entire family. Last year we had a pizza bingo night, ice cream social and many other fun evenings together! We also encourage community service through our participation in a Lap-a-Thon to raise money for the MS association.
Our season wraps up with three championship meets at the end of July and a season end banquet at the end of July. All swimmers are given a team trophy for their participation.
